YELLOW ALERT
FLOODING: PR, RE, MO;
HYDROGEOLOGICAL RISKS: PC, PR, RE, MO, BO;
WIND: PC, PR, RE, MO, BO, RA, FC, RN;
SEA CONDITIONS: FE;
STORM SURGES: FE.
In the early hours of Wednesday 21 October, scattered thunderstorms – some of which may be severe locally – are still likely over the central-western part of the region, with possible associated effects and damage. The rainfall may trigger localised landslides along the Apennine ridge, surface runoff on slopes and rapid rises in water levels in minor watercourses. Flooding is also forecast on watercourses in the central part of the region, with water levels possibly exceeding threshold 1. Moderate gale-force winds (62–74 km/h) from the south-west are expected, with stronger gusts, most likely over the Apennines. The sea will be very rough to rough offshore. Along the Ferrara coast, sea conditions near the shore are expected to generate localised instances of seawater intrusion and coastal erosion.
