This afternoon, Thursday 26 March, rainfall is forecast for the central-eastern part of the region, including thunderstorms, which will be heaviest along the coast and in the hills of Romagna. The rainfall will turn to snow at altitudes generally above 600–700 metres, with the possibility of occasional snowfall at lower altitudes.
Snow accumulations of between 15 and 30 cm are forecast for the hills of Romagna.
In the eastern hilly areas, localised surface runoff, landslides on slopes and rapid rises in water levels in the minor river network are possible. Threshold 1 is expected to be exceeded, and in some cases even threshold 2, on the central-eastern watercourses fed by the hills.
Winds are also expected to be predominantly northerly, with strong gale-force winds (75–88 km/h) from the north-east along the coast and moderate gale-force winds (62–74 km/h), mainly from the north-west, over the hills of Emilia and the eastern plains. A rapid increase in wave height is also expected, with rough seas offshore and very rough seas near the coast. Sea conditions near the coast may cause localised sea ingress and coastal erosion.

From 00:00 on 27 March 2026
YELLOW ALERT
River flooding: BO, FE, RA, FC, RN.

No significant weather events requiring an alert are forecast for tomorrow, Friday 27 March. The flood risk in zone D1 is due to the spread of flooding in the valley sections, following rainfall in the previous days. In zones B1 and B2, threshold 1 may be exceeded in reservoirs fed mainly by water from the hills. Due to residual wave action, occasional coastal erosion cannot be ruled out at vulnerable points along the coast as a result of the storm surge on 26 March.
