Heavy rainfall is forecast for Thursday, February 19, with local showers and/or thunderstorms, most likely in the central-western Apennines and the western plains. Strong southerly winds (75-88 km/h) are also forecast, with gusts of greater intensity across the entire Apennine range. Moderate storm winds (62-74 km/h) from the south with gusts of even greater intensity are expected in the central-eastern plains and on the coast. The expected rainfall could cause localized landslides, runoff on slopes, and rapid rises in water levels in rivers, exceeding threshold 1. Localized exceedances of threshold 2 cannot be ruled out. Sea conditions along the coast are also expected to cause localized marine ingress and coastal erosion, particularly in the central-northern sector.
